| When we talk of drinking tea in Uganda people think of black tea, as it is the commonly known and consumed tea in Uganda. |
| Divine Dimensions is looking forward to introduce the other varieties that are made out of the ordinary tea. |
| Tea is made from the dried and processed leaves, buds,and other parts of the tea plant, which are then steeped in water to infuse the water with the plant’s flavor and nutrients. There are six main categories of tea and the variations between the categories are created by varying the way that the leaves are prepared and processed: |
| • Black tea |
| • Green tea |
| • White tea |
| • Yellow tea |
| • Oolong tea |
| • Dark ( also called pu’erh) |
| Again all these are made from the same plant and the differences come from how the leaves are processed. There are also herbal tea which are made from a large variety of other plants. Some common herbal teas are chamomile, peppermint, Rooibos. It would be more accurate to call these “ herbal infusions” rather than herbal teas because they aren’t actually made from the tea plant. However in common usage its convenient to call them tea because they are steeped in the same way as tea just with different ingredients. |
